Grading policy:
Projects are graded based on the given criteria, composition, effort, creativity, and technical quality. Turn in a self-assessment with each project. The self-assessment helps build your critical skills & also lets me know how you see yourself as an artist.
Major projects are worth 100 points each
A = Excellent, outstanding effort, exceeds expectations; “WOW!!!”
B = Strong work, very good
C = Fair, adequate, looks finished. Anything less is unacceptable/not ready to hand in!
A final exam is required at NBHS; worth 10% of semester grade. Failure to take the exam may result in a loss of credit.
Deadlines: Projects are usually due a week after the last day we work on it in class. Late work drops 10% after the due date, and 10% each week afterward. Please communicate difficulties/emergencies with me as needs arise.
Attendance:
1. Absences & tardies interfere with your learning & success. Be here, on time.
2. Absences are excused by a note or phone call from parent to the attendance office. Late work due to unexcused absences will not be excused. If you are absent, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to find out what you missed & make it up ASAP.
